Knee-length skirts: a versatile staple
Sleek, chic and easy to wear, knee-length skirts sit perfectly on the smart-casual divide. Unlike a maxi skirt which tends to either be very summery or very formal, a knee-length skirt falls right in the middle, making it ultra-wearable in lots of different wardrobe dilemmas. They’re a must-have in a work repertoire, but they can also work really well for a more dressed-down day. At navabi, our knee-length skirts come in every fabric you can think of: denim, leather, jersey, taffeta, and we’ll definitely have the right shape of skirt to fit your body and your wardrobe, whether that’s pencil, Aline, cocoon, bell or flared. They provide a great canvas to get creative with tops, jackets, footwear and accessories, and can be dressed up or down as your heart desires.
Knee-length skirts for work
A demure knee-length skirt is perfect for the office. It’s refined without being too stuffy, and you can choose a style that makes the most of your figure and makes you feel like you. For everyday workwear, we like pairing a knee-length skirt with a crisp button-down shirt or a fine-knit sweater and a skinny belt. You can either wear this ensemble with a shorter jacket that hits the waistband of the skirt, or a cool longer jacket like a trench or duster that harmonises with the length of the skirt itself. Our real favourite is tucking a pussy-bow blouse into a pencil skirt made of heavy, stretchy material that gives you the ultimate hourglass shape.
The casual look
These skirts are also perfect for more relaxed dressing. Take your dark-coloured workwear-ready skirt, for example: swap out the long-sleeved work shirt for a breton top and you have a great weekend outfit. A pencil skirt works really well with a leather jacket for a bold, vampy look, or pair an A-line style with a cosy pea coat. We love to wear knee-length skirts with ballet pumps and bare legs but when it’s feeling chilly outside, they look just as great with a pair of knee-high boots that stop just below the hem of the skirt.
